It is has been realized that most pastors’ wives in rural areas are undermined and disrespected even in their churches, but this is partly due to a fact that they also don’t know their value and thus have a low self-esteem.
Empowerment as an objective is therefore geared towards building the self esteem of Pastors’ wives to be self-sustaining in this challenging life.
This intervention covers life skilling and self-esteem activities. These include trainings, workshops targeting building their self worth, conferences which will allow them rub shoulders with the other pastors’ wives who have made it in life in urban areas, craft works training, tailoring skills geared towards creating self-worth of the pastors wives.
These activities will help them earn a living and thus will be able to meet the needs of life; it reduces self-worth if one has to beg to live. To have these done; there is need to create time, structures, workshop places that can be used to facilitate conferences and workshops. There is also need to have tools to use like finances to facilitate, materials to use in trainings like sewing machines among others.
