Cissy Namubiru Mpanju
Cissy Namubiru Mpanju is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, an active member of Real Church in Waldorf, Maryland, and a respected leader within her community. The vision for Supporting Hands for the Forgotten was birthed out of a deeply personal season in Cissy’s life following the loss of her husband to COVID-19 in 2022. During her time of grief, she was ministered to by a pastor’s wife in Uganda who committed herself to prayer, encouragement, and unwavering support—despite never having met Cissy in person. Through this profound example of love and sisterhood, Cissy learned of the challenges faced by pastors’ wives in rural communities and felt called to pour back into pastors’ wives in rural areas and vulnerable children—restoring hope, dignity, and empowerment. Cissy is a mother of 3 biological children, and many adopted children. She is the eldest of twelve siblings. Professionally, Cissy is a Registered Nurse and currently serves with Prince George’s County Public Schools where her passion for care, service, and advocacy continues to shape the lives of others.
