WHY PASTOR’S WIVES
Africa is predominantly patriarchal and this means it is easier for a man to get born again and be accepted by the community rather than a woman. Most women who turn their lives to Christ are discriminated against and find it hard to have a normal life.
Most born again churches are led by full-time pastors, without any other sources of income. The burden of fending for the family then lies on only one person, the PASTOR’S WIFE.
A pastor’s wife usually goes without proper clothing and necessities while working extremely hard in retail shops, digging gardens, and other petty work to ensure their children have food, clothing, and health care.
These ladies carry the social, emotional, psychological, and financial burdens of the family, pastor, and church at large. They are responsible for the pastor’s appearance while ensuring he is happy and spiritually strong to minister.
The situation of a pastor’s wife is poor in urban areas but bearable; in the rural areas it is worse. These special vessels go through a lot to stand strong and ensure the pastor and church stands strong too. Without them; the pastor and church would not thrive.
The pastor’s wife shields the pastor, the church, and the family, taking on all responsibilities as the man of God ministers to others; this leaves her with no room for her own life.
