SUMMARY & ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT – VESSELS OF HONOR CONFERENCE 2023

We used to wonder what goes on in the mind of someone who sacrifices her pleasure, beauty, time, prayer life, family life and quiet time for the sake of the church, but we no longer do. After going into the lives of Pastors’ wives we found out that they carry the unseen burden of uplifting the pastors and the
church at large; while instead of appreciation they receive judgement, criticism, rejection and sometimes abuses. Every other group (women, youth, children & orphans) has care but they are usually the left behind lot!

It is in that line that Supporting Hands for Forgotten (SHFF); non-government organization has strived to reach out to the Pastors’ wives; with an aim of refreshing, empowering, training, envisioning and grounding them to build their self-esteem and thus face life with confidence. It is this confidence that will
help them build their life, ministry and thus turn into a great input in building the kingdom of God. SHFF organized a 2nd annual Vessels of Honor conference, this time in the South-western part of Uganda, a rural setting. It was intentional to take the empowerment conference to the places where the pastors’
wives live. This was to understand their local set up so that they can receive training in the skills they can turn into sources of income which are tailored to meeting their needs. The conference specifically ran from 9th to 11th August 2023 at Ddwaniro; Glory of Christ Church in Rakai District. The conference attracted 201 pastors’ wives and 173 pastors (Husbands to the attendees) who had their session on the last day.
